Gai Peter Manyuon

Public Relations and Corporate communications Officer

Gai Peter Manyuon is the Public Relations and Corporate Communications Officer for Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUCEA).  Gai is a trained South Sudanese journalist and public relations strategist who worked previously with the Citizen Newspaper and Television in Juba, South Sudan News Agency and Sudan Tribune as Columnist and writer.

Gai previously worked for African Centre for Transitional Justice (ACT-J) as Communications specialist and South Sudan Law Society (SSLS) as Senior Information and Communications Officer. Currently Gai is PhD candidate in Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM).

Gai holds a master’s degree of humanitarian Action, Cooperation and Development from the Open University of Tanzania (OUT), Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy from Cavendish University Uganda (CUU), Master of Arts degree in Public Relations and Media Management from St. Lawrence University (SLAU), Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from UMCAT School of Journalism and Mass Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication from St. Lawrence University (SLAU).

Gai also holds a certificate in Leadership and Integrity from Strathmore University, Certificate in Forensic Science from Guatemala forensic academy and Certificate in Civic Engagement from University of Georgia in United States. His research interest is in media laws, mass media and society, development communication, conflict, politics, humanitarianism, and development.
