Dr. Gervais Ndayizeye

Senior Exchange Programs Officer

Gervais Ndayizeye holds a Ph.D. in Management Accounting, a master’s degree in accounting, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. He currently serves as a Senior Exchange Programs Officer at the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA). He is responsible for developing and managing policies and guidelines for staff and student exchange programs at both regional and international levels. He coordinates regional and global links, supports student exchange programs, evaluates program effectiveness, and recommends improvement strategies.

Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions in various domains. He served as the Vice Chancellor at Bujumbura International University and the International University of Equator, where he also worked as a lecturer. He was the Managing Director at Business Insurance and Reinsurance Company (BIC), Business Manager at Kira Hospital, Chief Finance and Operational Officer at Bugesera Agri-Business, and Marsters coordinator as well as Head of the Department of Business for a long time. He has a vast knowledge of budgeting, finance, accounting, management, entrepreneurship, mentoring, and research, with expertise in factory industries and higher education institutions.

In the past 15 years, he has achieved several remarkable accomplishments. He has successfully revitalized failing companies, facilitated the mobility of students and staff, negotiated partnership agreements, fostered positive working relationships between employees and management, boosted worker morale, and implemented innovative practices. He has worked as an analyst for various higher education and financial institutions. He has supervised over 50 graduate-level students and has extensive experience as a lecturer at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
