Syson Kirabo

Accounts Assistant/Cashier

Syson is currently an Accounts Assistant/Cashier at the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) since 2015. Before joining IUCEA permanently, she served as a Consultant to IUCEA in charge of preparation of Financial Statements and handling Audits. She has vast knowledge and experience in Finance, Accounting, and Auditing, a period spanning over 20 years.

Before joining IUCEA, she worked in various organizations, including among others: Deloitte & Touche, an international auditing firm for about 5 years; Dominion Petroleum & Exploration Company as an Accountant in charge of the Finance Department and also making quarterly reports to the Government of Uganda, on oil explorations expenses and assets;  Bushnet Uganda Ltd, an International Data Storage and Internet providers, as an Accountant; and Victoria Flowers Ltd (U) a flower export company, handling payroll of over 400 employees.

Syson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a specialization in Finance, she also holds a Diploma in Business Studies – Accounting. Currently, she is finalizing a CPA in Uganda and at the same time undertaking a master’s degree in agriculture and applied economics. She holds various professional certificates in IPSAS, PASTEL, and Project Financial Management. Furthermore, she has knowledge of various financial management systems including Pastel, Pronto, Sun Systems, and QuickBooks.
