TVET experts from Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania met in Naivasha, Kenya and virtually to discuss guidelines for student and staff mobility. The guidelines will promote student and staff exchange mobility programmes among TVET institutes in East Africa. The meeting was attended by the National Project Coordination Units and Project Implementation Units from Regional Flagship Institutes (RFTIs).
The EASTRIP Regional Project Coordinator, Dr. Cosam Joseph, welcomed the participants to the meeting and thanked them for making time to attend the meeting both physically and virtually in adherence to COVID-19 standard operating procedures. He informed participants that the meeting was convened to first track the implementation of the project, according to the results framework.
The meeting reviewed the regional guidelines on students and staff mobility and exchange programmes. Also, participants from each of the three countries developed National Guidelines to facilitate enrolment of students and mobility of staff from TVET institutes in the region. The RFTIs are expected use National Guidelines to facilitate their staff to participate in regional exchange programmes with other TVET institutes in the region.
