CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY STUDENTS’ MOBILITY SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME (EAC-SMS) 2023/2024 (COHORT 1 Postgraduate programmes)

The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) is inviting applications from eligible citizens of the EAC partner states for cohort 1 of the Postgraduate programs under the East Africa Community Student’s Mobility Scholarship Scheme (EAC-SMS).  This scholarship is supported by IUCEA-Member Universities, the IUCEA, and parents/guardians/self.

46 postgraduate scholarships are on offer in various disciplines for the year the 2023/2024 academic

Eligibility:

  1. Admissible into the selected program in a participating University
  2. Be registered or registrable required to study in another EAC country (not their country of origin/citizenship)
  3. Nationals of the EAC Partner states (Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda).
  4. Duration of the Scholarship: Depending on the selected University program for the Masters’s or Doctoral.
  5. Download and submit complete application forms before the deadline.

Important Timelines:

  1. CALL OPEN: August 2nd, 2023
  2. The call is extended to August 28th, 2023  not later than 17:00 hours, East African Time.
