About Us

The East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN) is a network of quality assurance practitioners in the region. The network was formally established in 2012 following the adoption of its Constitution. It is hosted under the auspice of the Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUCEA), regional inter-government body for 5 East African Countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi) that facilitates coordination, harmonisation and networking among universities in East Africa, and with universities outside the region as well as provide a forum for discussion on a wide range of academic and other matters relating to higher education in East Africa.
