The East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN), a network of quality assurance practitioners in East Africa, is pleased to announce a call for papers for its Eighth Annual Regional Quality Assurance Forum 2018. The forum seeks to provide a unique and an important opportunity for quality assurance practitioners, senior administrators of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), executive members of national accreditation bodies, higher education researchers, and faculty and policy makers to share ideas on quality assurance issues, systems, practices and challenges in promoting quality higher education in East Africa. The East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN) is a network of quality assurance practitioners in the region. The Network was formally established in 2012 and organized its first forum in May 2012 held in Entebbe Uganda. Since then, and following the agreement during the EAQAN General Assembly, EAQAN in collaboration with Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) has been organizing an annual QA Forum around May every year. The subsequent forums have been held in Kigali 2013, Arusha in 2014, Nairobi in 2015, Entebbe 2016 and Dar es Salaam 2017. These gatherings provide opportunity for EAQAN members to present papers and share experienceson key issues ofquality assurance, receive further training and network with other QA practitioners in the region and beyond. The Mawazo PhD Scholars Programme
The Mawazo PhD Scholars programme is a one-year, non-residential fellowship aimed at women pursuing PhD studies at Kenyan universities. The goal of this programme is to build a strong pipeline of future researchers who are prepared to ask insightful questions about African development, and effectively communicate their results to both government and industry leaders and the general public. We welcome applications from women in any academic discipline, with a preference for research projects focused on development-related topics, and using social science research methods. Read More
Call for Participation in the Staff Mobility Programme in EAC universities for the Financial Year 2017-18 (ending June 2018)
IUCEA wishes to announce a call for applicants to participate in the 2017/2018 staff mobility programme in the EAC Partner States for member universities. Applications are invited from IUCEA member universities, which wish to receive visiting Staff from universities in the other EAC Partner States, or from academic staff who would like to offer some or all of the 3 services under the Staff Mobility Programme to universities in the region.
Duration: The Staff Mobility programme under this call is for a maximum of 3 months or the equivalent of one semester starting from February 2018 at the earliest and latest 30th June 2018. Those starting from 30th June 2018 can participate up to 30th September 2018.
